It Aint Whatcha Do...

Greetings and Salutations!

Happy New Year!  I hope your new year is off to a grand and glorious start and is as well as can be!

"When I was girl about half past 3 my Ma said daughter come here to me - she said things may come and things may go but this is one thing you oughtta know - oh "It aint whatcha  do, it's the way that you do it" and that's what gets results!

This is one of my favorite songs sung by the First Lady of song - Ms.  ELLA FITZGERALD!  And in honor of her 102nd birthday, the Genesis Theatre Company is proud to present "SIMPLY, ELLA!" - A Musical Tribute to Ella Fitzgerald, starring Indy's own:  The incomparable Ms. Sandy Lomax as Ella Fitzgerald!

Sway to the tunes of yester-year as Ms. Sandy belts out the smooth poetic sounds as if you're hearing Ms. Ella herself! She'll scat-bap-bee-dap the night way with favorites like "A Tisket, A Tasket", "I Got Rhythm", "It Don't Mean A Thing if it Aint got that Swing", "Jersey Bounce", "How High the Moon" and many many more!

Don't miss this fascinating rhythmic show full of song and dance with numbers like the Jitterbug, and the Lindy Hop.
SIMPLY, ELLA is simply delightful and simply not to be missed!

See you at the show!

love the lyrics to this amazing song! I often wonder how people get such amazing ideas and song lyrics and put them into words. it takes a true talent to do that.

I also love Ella Fitzgerald's songs. I love jazz songs. When I was a little girl, my grandmother would always visit me and my parents at home. So back then, whenever my grandmother visited, I would always hear her sing jazz songs in our home's living room. I miss listening to my grandmother sing jazz songs. My grandmother died about 13 years ago. I wish my grandmother is still around to sing jazz songs for me.
